"ORE" Supplied
We supply you with the opportunity to experience your 4wd vehicle off-road, where fun and adventure awaits you and your family. We offer a controlled environment and skilled instructors that have a number of years of off-road driving experience, as well as motorsport backgrounds, a number of them being Multi-championship racers. Find that elsewhere. "ORE" classes will, in most cases, have a minimum of two instructors, one leading the group, the other(s), in some cases, riding along with you, then switching to other vehicles as deemed necessary.

"ORE" vehicles are always prepared and equipped to the highest standards... Our lead vehicle is normally equipped with a 8000-lbs winch and recovery gear (just in case), fire extinguishers, Beautiful Countrysidefirst aid kit, plus tools and emergency supplies. When additional "ORE" vehicles are present they will be linked via radios, and as always, a phone for emergency use. As of this printing, we are pleased to say none of the above mentioned items, with the exception of the radios, have been used during a class. Well, maybe a few tools.

During some courses, and most excursions, we supply each participant with a well thought out and printed "Rally Route Book" for your days event, which is yours to keep when we depart at days end. These booklets will allow you to navigate along our route, the pages normally contain driving and route instructions, tips, and/or notes regarding historical sites you’ll pass along the way. Ready to sign up? Here’s how...

How to Sign-up

Easy. You’re already read most of these web pages, thus you’re part way there. You can sign-up online or contact us.  Read also the "News & Information" page, on which we’ve listed this years event schedule of dates available. Once you’ve chosen your date, fill out the following "ORE" training application. Please give as much information as possible, including a day time phone number and fax number if possible. Please do not forget to list the date(s) requested, and to enclose a check or credit card information for the correct amount. Please try to mail at least two (2) weeks prior to your requested event date. If all else fails, please call or fax us any time.

A Confirmation Notice will be mailed out approximately one week prior to your course, listing the meeting place and time, as well as hotel/motel information. The application has cancellation/refund details listed. If for some reason you are unable to attend at the last minute, please contact us immediately to reschedule your course(s).

Due to changing weather conditions and any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, The Off-Road Experience reserves the right to change and/or cancel classes as it deems necessary. No compensation to the participants will be forth coming, except a refund for course fees only.

Don’t Be Discouraged... it’s not that far, really

Though we are based in northern California, the majority of are classes are based out of Reno, Nevada, or the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. Why? Quit simply, there are very few places in California that offer us the freedoms and choice of terrain that Nevada offers, not to mention the sights. Don’t be discouraged though, make a weekend out of it. Plan on departing home Friday evening and staying in Reno. Saturday morning, at approx 9:30 a.m., you’ll meet your instructors for your (Beginner) class. On Sunday you have a number of choices, one of which is to join us for either our Intermediate or Advanced class, or... take in one of the many attractions Nevada has to offer, such as Reno itself, Carson City, Virginia City, or Lake Tahoe. Our future plans are to expand south, establishing "ORE" in the Los Angeles basin.

FYI: "ORE" draws participants from all over the Western states.

Signing Up for your class

(Necessary Information)

All "ORE" Training classes vary in location and total off-road mileage covered, though their time frames are very much alike, approximately six (6) hours in length. Each class is a One-day event. In most cases the route will include both on and off road sections, the off-road portion being on established roads and/or marked trails through open country, observing the TREAD LIGHTLY program as we go. On occasion we’ll use the confined areas such as those offered by the California State Recreational Vehicle parks, though this is rare. As already stated, the majority of our courses are held just outside of Reno, Nevada, or, as weather permits, in the California National Forests of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

To avoid confusion we’ll go over our procedure.

1) Choose the class or excursion of your choice.

2) Complete your "ORE" Training Application and return with the correct funds enclosed, approx 2 weeks prior.

3) A Confirmation Notice will be mailed to you approximately one (1) week prior to your scheduled class date.

4) Make your hotel/motel accommodations as required for your class(es).

5) Arrive at the pre-determined location on time with a full tank of gas, and a full ice box.

6) After signing in and completing the required release forms, convoy instructions will be given to the group.

7) Departing your meeting location in Convoy formation to your training area. Please don’t get separated.
